Netflix: We didn't forget the iPhone

After years of waiting for an official Netflix app on the iPhone, it looks like they've finally answered our prayers. Now that the iPad app has launched, Netflix will turn its attention to iPhone users. According to Steve Swasey, VP of Corporate Communications at Netflix, 'We wouldn't invite you to dinner without planning to serve dessert. In other words, we're working on it so stay tuned' on the official Netflix blog. Until then, we have some pretty good alternatives like PhoneFlix.... read more.

THQ Wireless working on Star Wars Cantina game

THQ Wireless have unveiled their plans to release a new Star Wars licensed iPhone game. The new game will see Star Wars geeks (we kid!) running a cantina on Tatooine at the famous Mos Eisley Spaceport, serving drinks up to a colorful cast of characters from the Star Wars universe. The game looks to be similar to Diner Dash judging from these screenshots and description. As you'd normally expect from THQ, the Star Wars license is being put to great use here, but with a twist. The Cantina game will sport a unique art style perfectly suited for the platform and likely scales well for the iPad also.
According to the official description, 'Your task is to see that the right beverage finds its way to the right customer. And donandrsquo;t keep them waiting, some of the customers are real...... read more.

Apple Bans Protective Screen Film in Stores

It appears that Apple has made a stand against third-party protective screen films and skins at their official stores and online portals according to several accessory manufacturers. The ban will not only stop all screen film sales but also manufacturers from offering iPhone cases that are packaged with decorative or protective skins in those stores. The iPhone isn't alone in this either. Apple will also ban protective screen film from every single one of their products - iPods, iPads, desktops, laptops, etc - but why?... read more.

Third-Party App Multitasking coming to iPhone soon?

For quite some time, ATandamp;T have been lauding their smart phones for having the ability to multitask and while this may be somewhat true, the iPhone has never been fully capable of this outside of its own first party apps. Fortunately, the most recent iPhone 3.2 SDK appears to include several mentions of multitasking features, including a 'multitasking dialog box,' leading many to assume this ability may be in the pipeline eventually allowing iPhone developers to take advantage of it for their own apps. The question is, how soon and in what form will the multitasking features come in?... read more.
